How to find the best software outsourcing company for your project?

In this flat world of information technology and internet you don't need to get out of your bed to make your business run. With a computer and an internet connection you can hire a developer from 20,000 kilometers far to do your job.

It looks very good because of affordable rate but also a risk. You haven't never met your developer face to face and may be never meet him/her in all your lifetime. So the question here is "How to find your best software outsourcing company?". I know that we may never have a fulfilled answer for this question. But in a relative way, I can show here my experience to hire your software partner to outsource. Just a personal opinion. Also, this is only for my stack: web development.

Have a good first glance

The first glance is very important to start a cooperation. As in my experience when I made interview for my company candidate. When I thought that candidate is not appropriate for the position, 90% of them left in a few weeks.

Here is some question which can help you to figure out your partner is possible a good address or not.

They should have a well organized website

Is that a well designed website or at lest you can see that website provide an acceptable tasty for you. Some software company said that "We are too busy on clients' projects and have no time for our website!". That's an acceptable answer but with black side that is that company it not well organized, their staff is not stable to take care all the task (here is web design), and further they don't have time to allocate for your next projects.

They should make first response quickly in an understandable language

Then, after you collected your potential partners in list. You can try to make contact to them. Just write an email to send them. A professional company will make a response quickly in their working time and a bit latency in their out-of-working time. We can't requires them to answer when they are in bed of course but for other time they should make response to you as quick as possible.

It's showing that they have someone to take care about customer relationship and they really want to have more clients also.

More over, their  email should be understandable. It's really bad if your partner could not make a simple touch.

It depends on your budget

A project costs different depends on how it's going. Yes, in software development, the cost of the project is calculated based on: 1) How big it is? and 2) How it's going?

How big it is? This is depends on what you want (the requirement) and which infrastructure it would like to based on.

How it's going? This is how your organize the project? How many developers you would like to hire? Do you need someone as project manager or technique leader? Do you need automation test? Do you need TDD, BDD?... A website with a single page may cost a lot of money if say yes to the above questions.

After all, you as the project owner have to know what you want and what you have in the budget.

But often, with a small budget you can hire someone at junior level. It's good if you project is really simple (a website fix ex). But with a more complex business application you should resort your mind and choose the partner who can provide capability to give you a software design options to choose.

Can they understand your requirement

Are they at top level of software development or experienced enough to solve a complex application? It's depends on what they can figure out from your requirement. 

Just send them a minimum requirement. They have to have good questions whose answers can lead to a solutions. Also, a professional one can show you more than 1 solutions to choose.

Can they work under pressure?

If you would like to test their working under pressure. You can create small test project and said that you have to release this tomorrow.
